New Designs for 2017

2017 is starting off with some new designs. For a while, I’ve been wanting to create some hero and super-human designs that are based off of and related to my Fantasticons design from a while back. Now, I’m getting the chance to do it.

CAUTION: Power Level Over 9000

As a DBZ fan, one of my favorite moments in the series is when Goku goes Super Saiyan for the first time. That is a pivotal moment in the series, and sets the tone for what follows throught the rest of it.

The first design I want to introduce you to in this post combines the idea of generating an excessive amount of power with the meme/DBZ reference of “power level over 9000”. Sticking with the universal symbol for man theme from Fantasticons, I’ve altered him a bit to show a powerful transformation.

WARNING: Laser Vision in Progress

I’m not just a DBZ fan, though…I’m a fan of many things nerd. When we talk about comics, I love both DC and Marvel comics and try to keep up with everything from Iron Man and the Hulk to Batman and Superman. Comic characters have such great powers and abilities, they really take the excitement and action up about ten notches.

As such, if comic characters existed in real life, we might need some caution and warning signs to help us everyday folk know when they are around fighting the bad guys. For super-powered individuals with a propensity for laser vision, something like this might be in order:

As the year starts to build steam, and new demands are introduced, I want to take a moment to thank you all for your continued encouragement and support. It’s incredibly rewarding to hear from you and to know that my designs are making an impact on you or those around you. One of my goals for 2017 is to continue to improve and create artwork that speaks to you and entertains you.
